Last year, Roselle Park Middle School had a great time participating in Respect Week! The week is celebrated annually around the country to teach respect, kindness and tolerance in an effort to educate students and prevent bullying. Students were encouraged to participate in a Panther Gear Spirit Day, recommend inspirational morning music, listen to the morning announcements, complete a School Safety Team Scavenger Hunt, and decorate sidewalks around our local schools for Chalk It Up Day :)
Be the "I" in KIND!
Students were asked to read an "Empathy Pledge" that we created. Many of them felt that they could live by the words in the pledge- supporting that they would be kind to all! After signing the pledge, we asked for them to stand for a photo to show that they will "Be the 'I' in K-I-N-D!" Thank you to all who signed the pledge!
Chalk It Up Day
We had a lot of fun 'chalking it up' with positive messages around the sidewalks of Robert Gordon Elementary School, Sherman School Elementary School, Roselle Park Middle School and The Academy. Our 8th grade student leaders were super helpful and worked so well with the other students who participated. We appreciate all the kindness and support they provided to make this event such a success!
School Safety Team Scavenger Hunt & Raffle
Students were asked to find all the staff members on the School Safety Team! They found the team by checking classroom doors for the PAW sign and looking to see who was wearing the special Support Team shirt with their identifying nametag. This year's raffle winners were... Cyriel Soffo - Grade 6, Laila Ilyas - Grade 7, Luis Perez - Grade 8. They each received a gift card to Dairy Queen! Congratulations to our winners, and thank you all who participated in the Scavenger Hunt Raffle :)
